US Postal Service wins ABC30 shipping competition

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- We have the results of an experiment Action News started last week to see which of the major shipping companies get your packages to you the fastest -- dollar for dollar.

Last Monday, we sent three ABC30 station mugs to our sister station in Southern Illinois using three different mailing options -- the U.S. Postal Service, UPS and FedEx. The first mug arrived in Illinois on Thursday via U.S. mail. By Friday, the UPS and FedEx mugs arrived.

Our tests weren't scientific, but they showed shipping our mugs through USPS was both the cheapest and most efficient option. But, the best piece of advice is to always ship early to assure your package arrives on time.
