FRESNO COUNTY (KFSN) -- The victims of a double homicide in Fresno County were identified Sunday by the Fresno County Sheriff's office.
Thirty-one-year-old Alfonso Barbosa and 29-year-old Fray Martin Rodriguez, both of Reedley, were killed Saturday evening and investigators are still looking for clues.
The intersection of Crawford and Dinuba Avenues in Fresno County is a busy one. It's where passersby came across a Chevy Malibu parked on the side of the road Saturday night with its engine and lights still on.
Inside, the passersby saw two men hunched over, shot to death. "Kind of scary to think things like that are happening around your neighborhood," neighbor Louie Garcia said. "But things happen, I don't know if it was related to drugs or some kind of gang-war whatever."
Sheriff's investigators are still working to find out who did it and why, but they aren't ruling out the possibility that the men were victims of gang-violence. Meanwhile, the suspects are still on the loose. "Unfortunately, this is our second double homicide in three days so all of our investigators are tired," said Sgt. Joe Smith with the Fresno County Sheriff's office. "But we're going to work and see if we can figure this out."
One day later, a small memorial sits where the two men were found. Family members say Barbosa had five kids and was close friends with Rodriguez. "It's a shame that those two young men had to lose their lives you know," Garcia said.
