FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Central California SPCA is celebrating its 68th birthday bash by waiving all adoption fees this weekend.
New pet owners can take home a forever friend through Sunday without any fees. All the animals are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccinations and are microchipped.
By adopting a pet you can also help the SPCA save a record number of animals this summer. It's one of 50 locations across the country competing in the Rachael Ray $100K Challenge. The shelter that can adopt out the most animals through the end of August will receive $100,000.
Right now, our local shelter is top dog. It remains in the lead halfway through the last month and is closing in on the goal to find homes for 2,880 animals during the challenge.
