FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Christina Patricio is putting the final touches on one of her blog posts on ThePatricios.com.

"It's turned into more than I could have ever imagined. I'm able to be a stay at home mom and make an amazing income by either a blog post or posting on Instagram."

Patricio has been blogging for almost 10 years, sharing her life, recipes, and favorite finds. She's gained more than 20,000 followers over the years on her blog, which has become a business.

"I get paid to either post on my Instagram or post a blog post. I also have ads on my blog."

Patricio said Thousands of dollars can be made, but it doesn't come without work. She spends a few hours a day taking photos and working on a blog post for products.

The work has paid off for Patricio who earns free trips, clothing, and other perks including as a Legoland Ambassador.

Other Valley moms are also taking the time to blog about their lives. Annie Foreman is a mother of two, realtor, and the face behind The Real Housewife of Fresno.

"Started as a diary but then it evolved and grew organically on its own and has become a bit of a side business for me."

But the women said that online diary takes work if you want to be successful to build relationships with companies and followers.

"Its fun, it's definitely not easy, it takes a lot of prep work and planning. Sometimes you're going after the product and sometimes they're coming after you," said Foreman.

Products are photographed and stories are posted not only on websites but social media.

For Foreman, blogging has been a fun side business.

"It's a creative outlet for me, that's the best part. That I get to share thoughts and ideas and you get to unleash your thoughts and feelings, and it touches a lot of people and a lot of people relate to it, and you get to meet people all over the world."

And for Patricio, she attributes her success to being herself.

"I think I'm just really real, honest, and I share everything. I'll tell you like it is and I think people like to connect with that."
