FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A local bite-sized book-enthusiast delivered at least 500 books from her non-profit organization to Fresno City College for the "Hope for The Holidays" program.

The books will be distributed among the children of 300 FCC students. The program also offers the students a $50 gift card to a local supermarket and toothbrushes for their kids.

Nine-year-old Danay Ferguson started the "Reading Heart" when she was eight. She says it was done to share her love of books and to improve literacy. "Reading is important because you always learn a lesson at the end of a book, and you also learn more things.

The Hope for The Holidays gift distribution will be held December 3rd and 4th.
