Discipline ruling for Blake Griffin expected next week, source says

The NBA and the Los Angeles Clippers have completed their investigation into the Blake Griffin-Matias Testi incident, according to a source. The Clippers have been consulting with the league on potential discipline for the star forward, and an announcement is expected next week.

Sources said Testi, an assistant equipment manager for the Clippers, is in no danger of losing his job following his Jan. 23 altercation with Griffin at a Toronto restaurant. Griffin broke his hand punching Testi after the two had gotten into an argument.

Neither Griffin nor Testi will attend Sunday's game against the Chicago Bulls, and sources say they are unlikely to join the team for Wednesday's home matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, as well.

Testi is expected to rejoin the Clippers for their four-game road trip beginning in Orlando, Florida, on Friday, sources said.

Griffin is not expected to travel with the team on the road trip but could rejoin the Clippers for their first game after the All-Star break, Feb 18 vs. the San Antonio Spurs. The team expects him to miss up to two months with a spiral fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his right hand.

Clippers coach Doc Rivers offered support for the forward Friday.

"He feels awful about it, and he's let everyone know that," Rivers said. "That's all you can do. You have to forgive people at some point. I believe that. We built Richard Nixon a library. I mean, my goodness. You forgive people. You really do. You kind of move on, and you build it back."
