PITTSBURGH -- The Los Angeles Dodgers will give one more rookie a chance to start a game when Brock Stewart joins the team in Milwaukee.
Stewart, 24, is set to become the Dodgers' ninth different starter this season and fourth starter to make his major league debut after Kenta Maeda, Ross Stripling and Julio Urias.
It has been a meteoric rise for Stewart, who started the season at Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. He has since been promoted to Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The club's sixth-round draft pick in 2014 out of Illinois State is a combined 8-3 with a 1.47 ERA in 14 starts this season. He already has compiled 86 innings, a year after throwing 101 innings with two separate Single-A teams.
The Dodgers have not confirmed the move, but Stewart delivered the news with a Twitter post Monday afternoon.
Stewart is expected to pitch Wednesday against the Brewers in the spot that was last occupied by Nick Tepesch, who gave up five runs on seven hits Friday at Pittsburgh before he was designated for assignment.
Stewart -- whose father, Jeff Stewart, is a scout in the Tampa Bay Rays organization -- is a 6-foot-3 right-hander who bats from the left side. Since his professional debut in 2004 at Rookie League Ogden, Stewart has posted a 3.13 ERA over 56 appearances, 34 starts.
