Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green recently accepted an invitation to play for USA Basketball at the 2016 Rio Olympics, a source told The Undefeated on Monday.

Green has never played for USA Basketball's national team but previously has played on the 2015 USA Showcase and on Team USA's 2011 World University Games squad. He was selected as a finalist for the United States' 2016 Rio Olympics team Jan. 18.

Despite concerns about the Zika virus in Brazil and his Warriors teammate Stephen Curry declining an invite, Green had previously told The Undefeated he would accept a Team USA invite if offered.

Green averaged 14 points, 9.5 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game for the Warriors during the 2015-16 regular season. The versatile 6-foot-7, 230-pound forward was an all-NBA second-team selection and all-NBA first-team defense selection.

He was also a member of the Western Conference's 2016 NBA All-Star team as a reserve.
