Lakers rule Lonzo Ball, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope out vs. Pacers

LOS ANGELES -- The Lakers ruled their starting backcourt of Lonzo Ball (sore left knee) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (right Achilles tendon strain) out for Friday's game againstIndiana.

Ball will miss his third straight game with the knee injury that the point guard suffered late during Saturday's overtime win in Dallas.

Caldwell-Pope injured his Achilles during Wednesday's loss at Oklahoma City. The shooting guard says he was relieved to avoid a more serious injury with the Achilles tendon strain.

The Lakers, who have lost two straight games, are as banged up as they've been all season.

Brandon Ingram re-tweaked a sprained left ankle he suffered at Dallas against Oklahoma City, although the forward said he expects to be able to play against Indiana depending on how his ankle responds by Friday afternoon.

Forward Kyle Kuzmasuffered a joint sprain in his left hand but also was hopeful that he will be able to play against the Pacers.

The Lakers are 0-8 this season when Ball doesn't play.
