The Los Angeles Lakers have shut down center Timofey Mozgov, who is healthy, to take a stronger look at the team's younger players for the rest of the season, a source told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears.

The 7-foot-1 Mozgov is finishing the first year of a four-year, $64 million contract he signed last summer.

Mozgov, 30, has played sparingly since the beginning of February, appearing in only four games since Feb. 2. He has lost playing time to Tarik Black and Ivica Zubac.

Mozgov is averaging 7.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.6 blocks in 54 games this season.
