Terrell Suggs says Elvis Dumervil to make 2016 debut Sunday

OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs announced fellow pass rusher Elvis Dumervil will make his 2016 debut against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Suggs was answering a question about the defense's success on Wednesday when he added an important piece of news.

"We get anther guy back this week, so that is going to help us out," Suggs said.

Suggs was then asked a follow-up question on Dumervil, who has missed the first three games after having a setback with a foot injury. Dumervil returned to practice Wednesday.

"It was tough not having him in there, but we get him back and it's going to be good," Suggs said.

Suggs and Dumervil were the NFL's top pass rush duo in 2014, the last time they played a full season together.

Dumervil returned to practice last week and was limited Wednesday and Thursday. But he missed Friday's practice and didn't play in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Dumervil was "really close" to playing last week.

"He was fighting to do it," Harbaugh said. "He just didn't quite get there."
