GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers lost another receiver on Sunday.

Already without Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams, the Packers lost rookie Ty Montgomery to an ankle injury in the second quarter against the San Diego Chargers.

Montgomery was injured at the end of a 6-yard reception on a shovel pass. He couldn't put much weight on his left ankle and needed help getting off the field before he was carted to the locker room.

It left the Packers with only four available receivers: Randall Cobb, James Jones, Jeff Janis and Jared Abbrederis. Janis responded with a 46-yard reception, but it was his only catch of the first half, and Abbrederis replaced Montgomery on kickoff returns.

Cobb is still banged up from the right shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason and was limited to just one catch for 12 yards in the first half.

The Packers held out Adams with the hope that next week's bye would allow him to come back at closer to full strength for the Nov. 1 game at Denver.
