2 dead after a head-on crash in Visalia

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Officers say a woman was driving her car on Caldwell Avenue near Pinkham Street around 7 a.m. this morning when she collided head-on with a GMC pickup truck.

The woman died at the scene. The driver of the truck, who police identified as 66-year-old Cornelio Carrasco of Woodlake, was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

It's still not known what caused the crash. Officers expect Caldwell to be closed between Pinkham and Ben Maddox Way until Monday afternoon while they investigate.

Police have not released the identity of the woman who was killed as they are still working to positively identify her and notify her family.
