Witnesses say the big rig drove off Highway 99 and exploded into flames on Highland Avenue.
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Investigators said it will likely take a while to positively identify a truck driver who died in fiery crash along Highway 99 in Selma.
The big rig was so badly burned, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said it will require DNA tests to find out who the driver was.
The semi was traveling north on 99 near Highland Avenue shortly before 6:30 Tuesday morning. For unknown reasons the driver veered off the highway. The rig fell several feet to the roadway below before catching fire.
No other vehicles were involved.
