"It's not the result I wanted. It's not the result any father or family would want," said father Bradley Lockhart.
Davis, who is pregnant, already faces charges of providing her five- year-old daughter for sex trafficking. She is also charged with misleading police and obstructing their investigation, beginning with her 911 call.
In the 911 call Davis stated, "I woke up this morning and my daughter is not in this house, I don't know if she walked out. I don't know what's going on but she's not here.
911: "How old is your daughter?"
Davis: "She's 5"
911: "5?"
Davis: "Yes ma'am."
Investigators say Davis made that call more than a half-hour after images were captured on a hotel surveillance camera showing Shaniya in the arms of 29-year-old Mario McNeill.
McNeill pled not guilty to charges of kidnapping on Monday. Police say more charges may follow.
Finding Shaniya became a mission for her community, a community that now mourns a little girl most never knew; but whose disappearance touched their lives in lasting ways.
"That could've been anybody's little girl..my little girl.. Anybody else's little girl..it's just sad, very sad," said volunteer Venita Hinton.
