Action News has learned the new downtown /*Hofbrau*/ will close this Friday. The restaurant on Tulare Street just east of Chukchansi Park opened in September. But the owner says he's been spending more money than he's making, just to keep the doors open.
Business tapered off after a strong start, and the owner says a lack of parking played a role.
Friday is expected to be the last day of business.
The restaurant tried to fill a void left when the original Hofbrau at R Street and Tulare closed back in 2007, after more than 60 years in business.
