Fresno hosted first annual Bookwyrm Con

FRESNO, Calif.

The Fresno County Library and Central Valley Pathfinder Society hosted the first annual Bookwyrm Con.

The event drew people from across the state to the Woodward Park Regional Library. Organizers set up tables where participants could play their favorite games tournament style.

They say the convention also teaches some valuable life skills.

Bookwrym Convention Organizer James Tyner said, "It's a real important thing because it promotes more than just, it's not just a game it's not just rolling the dice... It teaches you social things like how to get along with other people, math and reading."

The location for the convention also exposes gamers to all the library has to offer. Organizers are calling the event a great success and hope to do it again next year.
