The Fresno Fire Department said they responded to a house fire just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday morning near Shields Avenue and West Avenue.
Fire officials said two transients were living inside the vacant home. The transients said there had been an altercation earlier in the morning with a man described as an ex-boyfriend. Police said the suspect had threatened to kill a woman and her current boyfriend before leaving. About 20 minutes after the altercation, a fire was discovered in the kitchen and living room of the home.
Investigators are searching for 28-year-old Daniel Vincent Vasquez in connection with the fire.
