FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police say a teenager was shot to death at a bowling alley in north Fresno on Friday night.
The shooting happened just after 10:30 pm at the Bowlero location on Blackstone and Sierra.
Officers arrived to a scene of chaos, with multiple people fleeing in the parking lot and from inside the venue.
They found an 18-year-old man lying in front of the Bowlero, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was rushed to St. Agnes Hospital, but he was declared dead a short time later.
Homicide detectives say two groups of customers got into a physical fight inside earlier in the evening. The fight continued outside, and that's when the teenager was shot.
They say the incident was gang-related.
Police say it was NOT an 'active shooter ' incident and the shooting did not happen inside the Bowlero, contrary to some initial reports.
A man who wanted to remain anonymous says he was just a few lanes over from a fight that broke out.
Then, as the fight escalated, he saw someone pull a gun from a bag.
"I just started screaming for everybody to get out, to leave," he said. "I'd seen the guy that I initially saw started running towards the front of the entrance and I started screaming again and again, 'He's about to shoot. He's about to shoot'."
There were several witnesses and police are working to track them all down.
Police say they do not have a suspect description yet - but say there will be increased police presence in the area.
