Visalia artist putting modern twist on stain glass art
Chelsea Brewer is crafting her next piece of stained glass art.

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Chelsea Brewer is crafting her next piece of stained glass art.

"I'm a one woman show. It takes a lot of but I love it, I love getting my hands dirty."

Brewer showed us the tedious process of taking pieces of brightly colored glass and handcrafting them into a cactus. The Visalia resident grew up in the Ventura area and was captivated by stained glass at an early age.

"I loved the light, the color, the texture."

So Brewer took a class and then turned her passion into a business. She's handcrafted sun catchers, catch all's, and has been hired to do work for homeowners. Her decor has been inspired by the desert landscapes where she has lived.

In the early days of her business Brewer sold locally, but once she got online and on social media like Instagram, her business quickly grew and put sun catchers in the hands of people across California and North America.

Brewer colorful pieces have been sold in boutiques and even Canada. In the Valley, you can find her creations at Enjoy the Store in Visalia and Root General in Downtown Fresno.

Brewer said she is thankful to have seen her shop thrive since moving to Visalia.

"It really allows me space to grow as an artist, but to challenge myself and see what I am capable of and what the business is capable of."

While the art requires Brewer to be attentive to each detail, she said the finished product makes it all worth it.

"It's a reaffirmation for me that I feel very grateful to love what I do."
