I. GENERAL POLICY
This report covers the period from July 22, 2024, through July 31, 2025.

KFSN-TV (the "Station") has a longstanding commitment to a policy that no person shall be discriminated against in employment by the Station because of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex.

II. JOB VACANCIES AND RECRUITMENT SOURCES
KFSN-TV has publicized job vacancies in the following ways:

  1. We periodically broadcast on-air announcements publicizing the fact that qualified organizations may request to be added to our mailing list.
  2. Posting all open positions on the company career website, Disneycareers.com.
  3. Posting open positions on the Station's website, www.abc30.com/jobs.
  4. Open positions posted on Disneycareers.com are subsequently posted by the DirectEmployers Association Network to numerous sites that list open jobs.
  5. Below is a list of all organizations, websites and sources that were used to fill Station full-job vacancies:

During the period covered by this report, KFSN-TV had a total of 6 vacancies for full-time positions.

The following positions were filled during the reporting period covered by this report:

III. SELECT OUTREACH INITIATIVES
1. Participation in at least four job fairs by station personnel who have substantial responsibility for making hiring decisions
KFSN station personnel participated in the following broadcast-related job fairs over the reporting period:

  1. Fresno Country Superintendent of Schools Career Fair at Chukchansi Park (10/23/2024). A KFSN Reporter and Anchor participated in the career fair on behalf of the station.
  2. Fresno City College's Journalism Conference (3/28/2025). Two KFSN Reporters participated in the conference on behalf of the station. Workshops were facilitated by local professional journalists representing broadcast news, print, radio, documentaries, mobile production, community media, and digital news.
  3. Golden West High School's inaugural Career and College fair (5/9/2025). KFSN's Action News Graphic artist participated in the career fair on behalf of the station.
  4. 11/20/2024: The Coalinga High School's annual Career Fair. A KFSN News Anchor participated in the career fair on behalf of the station.

4. Participation in at least four events sponsored by organizations representing groups present in the community interested in broadcast employment issues, including conventions, career days, workshops and similar activities
Career Days:

  1. 8/28/2024: A KFSN News Anchor spoke to students at Matilda Torres High School's videography class.
  2. 3/19/2025: The Coalinga High School's Career Day event. A KFSN News Anchor attended on behalf of the station.
  3. 4/02/2025: The MLK Jr. Elementary School's Career Day. A KFSN News Anchor participated in the career day on behalf of the station.

5. Establishing an internship program designed to assist members of the community in acquiring skills needed for broadcast employment
KFSN-TV offers a paid college internship program designed to assist qualified students in acquiring skills needed for employment in the broadcast industry. Specifically, the internship is designed to provide students with an onsite educational experience that complements their academic studies. During the reporting period, KFSN-TV hired two (2) interns.

7. Participation in scholarship programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting
During the reporting period, KFSN participated in scholarship programs designed to assist students interested in pursuing a career in broadcasting, including . five (5) scholarships for students to attend a State Center Community College District campus, three (3) scholarships for students majoring in Mass Communications/Journalism at California State University, Fresno, and scholarships funds offered by various community organizations including the Fresno/Madera Chapter of the Association of Mexican American Educators, San Joaquin Valley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Central California Asian Pacific Women.

8. Establishing training programs designed to enable station personnel to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions
Station personnel are given the opportunity to complete trainings designed to enable participants to acquire skills that could qualify them for higher level positions.

"Ignite" is a program designed to encourage leaders to lead culture and strategy in more active ways. This leadership puts people first and foremost in the context of business. KFSN's President and General Manager participated in the Ignite Mentoring Program.

Leadership Essentials: This training helps leaders of others build critical leadership skills and cultivate relationships that will accelerate their contribution to the organization's success. The KFSN Assistant Director - Broadcast Technology participated in this training

Better-Up Coaching & Training: COACH Powered by BetterUp, is a tailored coaching program for executives who lead people. Participants receive one-on-one support from a dedicated coach to navigate challenges and elevate leadership skills. The Director - Marketing & Community Engagement and the President & GM participated in the program.

Better-Up Lead: Lead is a personalized leadership skill development platform that supports a leader's growth through personalized learning plans, 1:1 coaching, and AI-Driven support. The Executive Producer - Digital participated in this program.

10. Participation in at least four events or programs sponsored by educational institutions relating to career opportunities in broadcasting
4/03/2025: KFSN News Anchor moderated a panel of students for Foundation of Central Unified Schools to discuss how scholarships have helped them succeed in college.

12. Listing each upper-level category opening in a job bank or newsletter of media trade groups whose membership includes substantial participation by women and minorities
KFSN-TV posted its job listings, including upper-level category openings, in the following job banks for media trade groups whose membership includes substantial participation by women and minorities: National Association of Hispanic Journalists, National Association of Black Journalists, Asian American Journalists Association, and Alliance for Women in Media.

14. Provision of training to management level personnel as to methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination
Station personnel are required to complete a "Preventing Discrimination & Harassment" training course which is designed to train employees on methods of ensuring equal employment opportunity and preventing discrimination.

16. Participation in other activities designed by the station employment unit reasonably calculated to further the goal of disseminating information as to employment opportunities in broadcasting to job candidates who might otherwise be unaware of such opportunities.
4/09/2025: KFSN News Anchor coached and was an ROP Showcase mentor for videography students at Caruthers Unified school district.

California CTE Leadership Development Institute (4/10/2025). A KFSN Executive Producer of Public Affairs was a guest speaker who gave Career Technical Education teachers and administrators tips on how to improve media relations.

8/21/2024: Fresno State Focus Class: On the first day of school for Fresno State, KFSN Action News Photographer and Reporter spoke to the Focus Class, producers of the Fresno State newscast and wrapped up with a Q & A session.

11/15/2024: KFSN News staff gave a tour of the KFSN Studios and Newsroom to Sanger West High School's Production class. KFSN anchors and staff spoke to the students, including a Q & A session after which they watched the live broadcast of KFSN Action News Midday.

3/28/25: KFSN Anchor and Reporter gave a behind the scenes tour of the newsroom, marketing and studios to video and film students from Sunnyside High School.
