Fresno roof jumper headed to prison
Abel Rodriguez was sentenced to nine years in prison for several crimes, including a bizarre getaway attempt back in February.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man caught on camera trying to run from police by jumping from roof to roof atop several Fresno homes is headed to prison.

Abel Rodriguez was the suspect involved in a bizarre getaway attempt back in February. And on Monday, Rodriguez was sentenced to nine years in prison for assault, false imprisonment and other charges.

He was a wanted parolee when he tried to run from officers. That was after he threatened and assaulted a woman inside her home in central Fresno, breaking in and holding a screwdriver to her throat.
