Stimulus update: House passes COVID relief bill
The House of Representatives voted Wednesday to approve the $1.9 trillion COVID relief plan, paving the way for President Joe Biden to sign his top legislative priority into law.

WASHINGTON -- The House of Representatives voted to approve the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill, and President Joe Biden signed it into law Thursday.

Part of this package includes stimulus checks up to $1,400 for individuals and $2,800 for married couples, including an additional $1,400 per dependent.

As opposed to past plans, dependents can include adult children who are students.

Also different are the thresholds for which people are eligible for the checks. The most recent changes by the Senate cap eligibly at individuals earning more than $80,000 a year and married couples earning more than $160,000 a year.

Individuals earning less than $75,000 a year and married couples earning less than $150,000 a year will be eligible for the full amount.
