Chef Shayna: Carn Asada Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers recipe

If you're planning to make your dad a meal for Father's Day, Chef Shayna has just the recipe.

Carne Asada Marinade


  • 1/4 cup Red Wine Vinegar

  • 1/4 cup Water

  • 1/4 cup Orange Juice

  • 1 Tb Olive Oil

  • 1 Tb Lemon Juice

  • 1 Tb Minced Garlic

  • 1/2 tsp Cumin

  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder

  • 1/4 cup Chopped fresh Cilantro

  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

  • 1 TB Brown Sugar

  • 1 lb Carne Asada

Ingredients


  • 5 Jalapeno Peppers

  • 4 oz Cream Cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • 3 slices Bacon

  • 2 tsp Sriracha

  • 1 lb marinated Carne Asada


Directions



  1. Marinade Carne Asada for 20min up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.

  2. Prepare Bacon- Lay slices on baking sheet & place in oven for 15 minutes at 375 degrees. Remove, cool, & chop.

  3. Wearing gloves, slice the tops off of Jalapenos and cut in half, remove all seeds and membranes. Soak jalapenos in bowl of water and dry.

  4. Prepare filling: Combine cream cheese, shredded cheese, bacon, and Sriracha until well blended.

  5. Using a spoon, fill the pepper halves with the cheese mixture.

  6. Wrap meat around the filled pepper placing the seam underneath the pepper. Place on a lined cookie sheet and place in the oven set to Broil for 4-5minutes or until meat is cooked and cheese is browned.
