Elderly man suffers medical emergency, crashes into cars and fence in east central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 70-year-old man is in the hospital after suffering a medical emergency, which led to him crashing his truck in east central Fresno.

The Fresno Fire Department says the crash happened on Sierra Vista and Grant avenues just after 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Firefighters say they had to help remove the man from the truck after it had hit three parked cars and crashed through the fence of a home.

He was taken to the hospital and his current condition has not been released.

Police say he suffered a medical emergency at the stop sign, which caused him to step on the accelerator.

He had his granddaughter with him in the truck but she was not injured.
