Man killed in suspected DUI crash involving tree in Fresno County identified

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The man who was killed in a suspected DUI crash in Fresno County has been identified as 53-year-old Braulio Gonzalez Amayo of Kerman.

It happened after 5 pm Saturday on Kearney Boulevard, west of Dickerson Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol says a Chevy Malibu was going west on Kearney when the driver veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Officers say Amayo was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the car.

He was declared dead at the scene.

Officers say alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash.
