
ATWATER, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man has been found dead on the train tracks in Atwater, police say.
Atwater Police responded to calls of a possible body on the tracks just after 6:00 P.M. Sunday in the area of Atwater Boulevard toward the train crossing at Packers Street.
The Union Pacific Railroad Company notified Atwater Police of the alarming discovery.
When officers arrived, they found the body of a man in his thirties.
The railroad crossing on Atwater Boulevard at Applegate Road through High Street is currently closed for an ongoing investigation.
For an alternative route, the Shaffer Street crossing remains open.
The Atwater Police Department asks people to avoid the area during its investigation.
It is unknown when the roads will reopen.
