Two men shot near Livingston High School, police investigating

FRESNO, Calif. -- Two men were shot near the intersection of Main and Park streets around 9:15 p.m. Friday.

Officers found both victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel transported the men to nearby hospitals.

One of the men has since been treated and released, while the second man remains in the hospital with more serious injuries.

Authorities say the suspected shooters ran from the scene shortly after the shooting. They believe a confrontation led up to the shooting.

The shooting was around the Livingston High School football stadium and happened while a game was underway. No students were hurt.

Merced County Sheriff's deputies, who were on-site for the football game, assisted Livingston Police with the immediate investigation.
