Rams' Aaron Donald won't travel to Australia, out Week 1

Los Angeles Rams standout defensive tackle Aaron Donald will not travel to Australia for Thursday night's opener against the San Francisco 49ers and will be inactive, coach Sean McVay announced Tuesday.

The Rams want to give Donald more time to ramp up before making his much-anticipated return after two seasons of retirement.

"He's attacked this the right way, but it would have been a really quick turnaround," McVay said.

Donald, who initially retired in March 2024, came out of retirement on Aug. 30. He took part in individual drills that day but did not do 11-on-11 until Sept. 6.br/]
