Sonny Vaccaro returns to Reedley College for community event

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Before he signed Michael Jordan to Nike and Kobe Bryant to Adidas, sports marketing executive Sonny Vaccaro was a student at Reedley College.

Now, Vaccaro is returning to his alma mater to share the story he calls the most improbable journey of his life.

Vaccaro attended Reedley College in 1957 after missing out on a football scholarship, a stop he says became one of the greatest experiences he ever had and the chance that set everything else in motion.

This Friday, the community is invited to hear more about that journey. A VIP meet and greet begins at 5 p.m. at the McClarty Center, with tickets available through the Reedley College website.

A free fireside chat follows at 6 p.m., where Vaccaro will reflect on his life, career, and the role Reedley played in it all.
