FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A suspect has been hospitalized after being shot by police officers in Fresno early Tuesday morning.
Police were initially called out to a ShotSpotter call at a park on Orchard and Huntington before 3 am.
Two officers found the suspect and tried to contact him, but Chief Mindy Casto said the suspect ran off while armed.
Casto said the suspect then shot at officers, which led to them firing back and shooting him multiple times.
He was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center and is in critical condition.
Chief Casto said they have not found a victim from the initial ShotSpotter call.
No officers were injured in the incident.
This is the second shooting involving Fresno police officers this year.
