Child, mother hit by truck at Clovis Trader Joe's parking lot; driver arrested

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 5-year-old child and their mother were hit by a truck Saturday afternoon in the Trader Joe's parking lot on Willow and Nees Avenues, Clovis Police say.

When officers arrived, they found the child awake and alert.

The 5-year-old child and the mother were taken to the hospital with injuries and are expected to survive.

The driver, 62-year-old Steve Myer of Prather, was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence and for injuring others.
