FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Improvements to roads and sidewalks are coming to the Tower District.
Construction is set to get underway this week.
Officials are calling it the Olive Avenue Streetscape project.
It includes improvements to sidewalks, reconstruction of medians, new high visibility crosswalks, landscaping and more.
The work is being done on Olive Avenue between Yosemite and Roosevelt Avenues.
Council members Esmeralda Soria and Miguel Arias say this project has been in the works since 2017 and they're happy to see it finally get underway.
"We invite people to come shop, come look for a house because we're going up from here and we'll continue to invest in the Tower District neighborhoods," SOria said.
Construction starts this Wednesday and will continue through July.
Traffic will be impacted, so you should expect delays as you're heading through the area.
Sidewalks will remain open, allowing visitors to get to businesses during construction.
