FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A car full of men has been driving around in northeast Fresno, shooting at random pedestrians with an Airsoft gun or a BB gun Monday afternoon.

Several people - about six or seven victims - have been hit by pellets. Police say they've received reports of shootings at Fresno and Browning, Bullard and Fresno and Dakota and First between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.

"We've had victims all over the northeast district. There's been seven that have been hit by this airsoft weapon being fired from this car," said Lt. Mark Hudson. "The only thing in common is they're out, and they're a target for these people driving around shooting this airsoft gun."

Police say there were three to four males inside the vehicle. Witnesses described the passenger doing the shooting as a black male adult and they say he was using an Airsoft handgun or a pellet gun.

All seven victims were left with welts, a few were treated by emergency crews on the scene, but none were taken to the hospital.

Fresno Police say the suspects are a group of three to four males in a small white four-door vehicle described as either a Toyota or Nissan.

Fresno Police are investigating the incident.
