Ex-NFL player Henry Ruggs was denied parole nearly five years after killing a woman in a car crash in Las Vegas, the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners ruled Thursday.
A lawyer for Henry Ruggs told a judge he has received body-worn camera video from police who arrived after a high-speed crash that killed a woman.
Tina Tintor, 23, "died from thermal injuries due to a motor vehicle collision on Nov. 2," according to the Clark County Coroner. Ex-Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III is accused of causing the predawn crash by driving drunk at speeds up to 156 mph.
Prosecutors are entitled to blood test results in their felony drunken-driving case against former Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, but they can't ask doctors what Ruggs said about the fiery fatal crash or his injuries, a Las Vegas judge said.
Attorneys for ex-Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III argued that although state law lets police and prosecutors obtain a report about his client's blood alcohol level, it doesn't let a judge compel first responders to testify about his physical condition.
Henry Ruggs III was allowed to remain under house arrest with a continuous alcohol monitor on one ankle and a GPS monitor on the other after he missed a signal earlier this month to submit a breath alcohol test.
