Glitch delays Central Unified students from taking home their tablets
Central Unified is one of two districts in the nation to roll out tablets for its entire student body. But there's hitch or at least a glitch.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Central Unified is one of two districts in the nation to roll out tablets for its entire student body. But there's hitch or at least a glitch.

Turns out, the district's firewall is not compatible with the tablet's 4G filter. Meaning the device could be open to any sort of internet search. As a result, the district is forced to keep the tablets inside the classroom, at least until they fix the problem.

Central Unified Superintendent Mike Berg said, "When we realized those two filters were in conflict and it's a compatibility adjustment we didn't have any choice short term to turn off the 4G and keep the devices in."

The district has IT and support staff working out the bugs. They say the students should be able to take the tablets home by the end of the month.
