"LottoGopher" has just signed actor, director, author and singer, William Shatner, to become the spokesperson for the Company.

LottoGopher is a lottery messenger service that allows users to order and manage their state lottery tickets online using a debit or credit card.

According to LottoGopher's website, individuals can either play alone with a single ticket or create and join online public and private groups to pool winnings from California lotteries, including Mega Millions, Powerball and SuperLotto Plus. LottoGopher offers memberships that allow California residents to order multiple tickets from various lotteries.

Action News reached out to the California Lottery and received the following response from Deputy Director of Corporate Communications, Russell Lopez:

"There are a handful of private companies that the Lottery is aware of which offer to purchase lottery tickets through a "courier" business model. While the California Lottery and the California Attorney General's office are aware of the existence of these businesses, they are neither associated with nor endorsed by the California Lottery. The Lottery has approximately 22,000 authorized retailer partners throughout the state where Lottery products are sold."
