
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A bank robbery suspect wanted in another city was taken into custody late Friday night after a police pursuit ended in a crash in east central Fresno, authorities said.
According to police, officers spotted the suspect near Golden State Boulevard and Highway 99 around 10 p.m. and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to pull over, prompting a brief pursuit.
For public safety reasons, officers discontinued the ground chase. However, a police helicopter continued tracking the suspect from the air.
Investigators said the suspect later crashed into another vehicle near Mckinley and Peach Avenues. Officers responded to the scene and arrested the suspect without further incident.
Police said no civilians were injured in the crash. The suspect's identity and the city where they were wanted in connection with the bank robbery have not yet been released.
