Seven-year-old hospitalized after car plows into Fresno restaurant
Police say the driver was a 20-year-old, who does not have her license, and believe she mistook the gas pedal for the brake.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A 7-year-old boy is recovering after a car slammed into a local restaurant, pinning him between a shelf and the cash register.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon at a taco shop on Kings Canyon and Willow Avenues in southeast Fresno.

Police say the driver was a 20-year-old woman, who does not have her license, and believe she mistook the gas pedal for the brake.

The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment with unknown injuries. The driver and her passenger are expected to be okay.

There's no word yet if the woman will face charges.
