FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Fresno Unified School District held the 4th Annual Yosemite Rock Fest Friday.

Middle school students gathered to show of their talents and compete for first place. Students from Cooper, Fort Miller, Glacier Point, Tehipite and Terronez middle schools competed in three categories.

Those categories were art, music and dance.

A panel of Fresno County Office of Education employees were the judges. "We've seen it grow tremendously," organizer Karla Dominguez said. "We started with just two schools participating, and the next year we had more people participate. So, we're very lucky that we actually have four different schools coming out."

The event wrapped up with a high school rock band performance by former Yosemite Middle School students.
