FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- America's first Hmong judge gave the keynote speech Saturday morning at the naturalization ceremony at Fresno State.

"Even though you were born in a different country because you speak a different language, you practice a different religion, you eat different food, and you look different. Those are all the things that make you a unique American. A unique American who will help make America the great country that it is," said Honourable Paul Lo, America's first Hmong judge.

Judge Lo, of the Merced County Superior Court, welcomed about 200 new Americans.

Saturday's event also included multi-cultural dance performances and success stories from Fresno Adult School students.
