LAS VEGAS (KFSN) -- Thousands of people, including Valley residents, were in attendance at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas when a gunman open fired.

A friend of Action News reporter Sontaya Rose was at the concert when gunfire broke out. Sontaya spoke to her friend, Craig, by phone and said on her Facebook Post, Craig was in the VIP area when the mass shooting unfolded.

Craig said he rushed to try to save people who were hurt. He describes the scene in his own Facebook Live post shortly following the shooting.

Another person attending the country music festival was ABC30 Executive Producer Shelby Maxwell.
