Fresno Police have identified a 12-year-old girl and they are looking for another teenager after gang threats were circulated this weekend on social media.

The messages were posted and targeted to students at Tioga and Kings Canyon middle schools.

Officers tracked down where the messages came from and interviewed the girl they believe posted the flyer.

"We don't really care what age a person is whose responsible for making those threats on social media, they are going to get arrested. I don't care if they are a juvenile or they are an adult. We have to send a message that those threats are unacceptable because they are creating a lot of fear and panic amongst students and parents and society in general," said Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

Chief Dyer says officers will look into any threats of violence made by students and will be arresting those responsible.
