LEMOORE, Calif. (KFSN) -- The new generation strike fighters are making their first visit to Lemoore Naval Air Station. The F-35s flew from Eglin Air Force Base in Florida for the week. They're giving pilots and Navy personnel a chance to check out the new fighters before they're officially stationed at LNAS. The base will be home to around 100 jets starting in 2016 or early 2017.

The F-35s feature the latest in military technology. Lockheed Martin set up a simulator at Lemoore Naval Air Station to show people what it's like to be in the pilot's seat.

The planes will be at the base until April 16.
