Fresno police are investigating the city's first homicide of the year
FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The stabbing death happened Friday afternoon at the Shields Express Market near the intersection of Shields Avenue and West Avenue in Central Fresno.
Police are still trying to figure out what lead up to this homicide, and don't know whether it was some kind of dispute or robbery at the Shields Express Mart.
"So we take a ton of preventative measures, but unfortunately people still have free will and there's all kinds of interpersonal disputes or motives we just can't account for. Just impossible to prevent every homicide," said Lt. Mindy Casto, Fresno Police Department.
Casto says they will be looking into any surveillance video from the area, but have not been able to determine if the store has any useable video to help in their investigation.
