Man on motorized bicycle killed after colliding with van

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Shields Avenue is closed from Fresno Street to Highway 41 while police investigate the crash.

Police say just after 4 a.m. on Wednesday, a medical transport van and a motorized bike collided at the intersection of Shields Avenue and Fresno Street, killing the bicycle rider. The man on the motorized bicycle was traveling south on Fresno Street when he struck the medical transport van, police say.

The driver of the van called 911 immediately and is cooperating with the investigation.
