FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is facing charges after he drove his car right into a house overnight in Central Fresno. Police believe 26-year-old George Maldonado may have been speeding when he tried to make a turn at Delno and Clinton around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Maldonado crashed into the side of the home -- damaging to the garage.

Investigators say a woman inside the home came out to help, but she was quickly scared off by the suspect.

"The person came out and asked him, 'Are you okay?' They came out to render aid to him -- and he did point a gun at the person and said 'I need to go.'" said Sgt. Diana Trueba, Fresno Police.

Officers found Maldonado hiding in a nearby backyard carrying a gun and box of ammunition. Officers say he was out on parole. They searched his home and found several another gun and several drugs. He now faces several felony charges.
