FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities are keeping a close eye on a Northeast Fresno neighborhood that was the scene of a stabbing and a shooting on Saturday.

Fresno police officers initially went to Third Street near Gettysburg Avenue just before 1 a.m. That's where they found a 17-year-old boy with several stab wounds to his back. The teenager was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center in critical condition, but he is expected to survive.

Police were called back to the same area around 3:30 p.m. for a shooting. They say four men drove by in a silver or light blue Mazda 3 and fired two shots over the victim's house.

"When they did the shooting, there was a crew of workers delivering a sofa. They were parked in the driveway and were standing in the driveway with some children in front of the house too, so very, very bold to come by and shoot a gun in broad daylight in front of people, so there's a possibility they'll come back," said Lt. Joe Gomez with the Fresno Police Department.

Police say it appears the same men were involved in both the shooting and the stabbing. The suspects were caught on a surveillance camera in the area, but detectives are still working to identify them.
