Search continues for suspect in stabbing deaths of mother and daughter in Clovis
Police say Dave McCann took off and headed towards Paso Robles after allegedly killing his wife, Tierney Cooper-McCann, and her 68-year-old mother Judith Cooper.

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- The search for 47-year-old Dave Thomas McCann is on after neighbors say he killed his wife and mother-in-law Saturday.

Police say McCann took off and headed towards the Central coast after allegedly killing 36-year-old Tierney Cooper-McCann and her 68-year-old mother Judith Cooper.

Neighbors in the Clovis community near Willow and Nees Avenues say they hardly got any sleep Saturday night after waking up to the crime scene.

Authorities say that, just the day before, McCann came to them for help.

"He came to us, he was cooperative in seeking our help to recover some property, and, again, the officer went out there and stood by with him and the property prepared for him to pick up it was a short interaction and he left," Capt. Tom Roberts with the Clovis Police Department said.

After the murders, McCann has been nowhere to be found.

But Clovis Police say social media tips helped lead them to the moving truck police they believe he took off in.

The truck was found late Saturday evening about a hundred miles away from the homicides took place.

"That was recovered last night in the city of Paso Robles," Roberts said.

Police are hoping more social media tips will lead them to man they believe is responsible for killing a mom and daughter over Mother's Day weekend.

And there are reports his getaway vehicle is on two wheels and not four. They say McCan stole a bike and may still be in the Paso Robles area.

"The description of that mountain bike is a gray and tan, 15-speed with small tool kit under the seat," Roberts said.
