Suspicious death investigation in Fresno County

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Deputies are investigating a suspicious death in Fresno County. Daniel Martinez, age 33, was found dead after a welfare check near Chance and Clinton avenues.

Investigators say a call that started as a welfare check quickly became suspicious. When they went into the home they found Martinez dead. They said he appeared to suffer traumatic injuries.

Family members gathered on scene waiting Thursday night for investigators to determine what happened.
